$25.00

Condition: Pre-owned - Excellent

Included: Original Little Golden Books Hansel and Gretel (1954) and 45 RPM album

Hansel and Gretel was included in the first volume of Kinder-und Hausmarchen, or Grimms' Fairy Tales (1812), written (or compiled) by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. The story likely originated in the Baltic region around 1315 CE and introduced to the creepy sibling storytellers by Wilhelm's wife.

The Brothers Grimm also brought us Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White, and The Frog Prince - among many others.

Don’t be fooled by the cherubic children that grace the cover or the promise of a gingerbread house - Hansel and Gretel is TERRIFYING. If you know anything about fairly tales, you’re aware that they are dark. (until Disney gets ahold of them).
