Hand-Made Turkey Turquoise Bracelet - Multi Disk Beads
Q1: Have you ever seen such a funky colored bracelet that wasn’t made from plastic beads?? (Me neither!)
Q2: Can you believe this bracelet is made from an actual stone?? (Me neither!)
Q3: Did you know that the word turquoise dates to the 17th century and is derived from the French word turquois - which means Turkish - because it was brought to Europe through Turkey? (Me neither!)
Q4: Did you assume that turquoise was so named because it was mined in Turkey?? (Me too!) And we are incorrect. Turkey was just a distribution center for the stone, which was mined in Persia (modern Iran) and Afghanistan.
This bracelet - shown in the first three photos - is made with round disks of Turkey turquoise.
The bracelet with round beads - photographed alongside this bracelet in images four & five- can be purchased separately HERE.
