Some September Stuff

Because September in Pennsylvania is magic.

Or it should be magic now that the temperatures have dropped.

But then, there’s the rain . . .

Palette

Aubergine is my new fave autumn hue.

And aubergine sounds WAAAAY better than eggplant,

Mix-Tape Must-Have

In honor of NFL’s week one (and the 1990s) , I present Jock Jams.

If you don’t know what Jock Jams are, you are in for a real treat.

And you were probably born in this century.

Pattern

Terrazzo makes me swoon. And when you add a fresh autumn palette, it’s almost more than I can handle.

Word

This is Merriam-Webster’s definition.

I don’t quite agree with restricting terrazzo to flooring (or countertops) - but I’m a HUGE M-W fan - so I’ll just have to let this one slide.

Terrazzo has an interesting history; read about it HERE.

Featured Product

This week’s featured product is this set of vintage ladies’ shoe stretchers.

These must be designed for some seriously pointy-toed shoes. The kind that I avoid at all costs.

While not everyone needs fancy vintage shoe stretchers, these fabulous little gems have other - more decorative - purposes.

Decoupage vintage fabric on the ends and wrap the shafts in fancy ribbon for a serious cottage core vibe, as seen HERE.

Group them with other vintage bits and baubles to make wall / door art.

Vintage Pattern

As far as difficulty level, I think sewing your own bathing suit is a close second to sewing your own winter coat with a fur collar.

At least if you’re using stretchy bathing suit material.

The GIF that keeps on GIFing

As a Dallas Cowboy fan, the last few years have been pretty underwhelming.

Or brutal/heart-breaking/agonizing/wretched/joyless.

Maybe this is the year??

Go ‘boys!

NOTE: I added this GIF before last night’s game and would (shamefully) have kept it, even has we lost.
